NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development (NC FELD) – online-self-paced/on-demand

This training will provide participants with an introduction to Foundations,

North Carolina’s new Early Learning and Development expectations, how they are structured, and how to implement them in early childhood settings. Participants will construct the knowledge by embedding the expectations in daily classroom planning and practice. Participants will engage in simulations, hands on practice, small and large group activities, discussion, and lecture. Full participation is required in order to earn the CEU for this learning event.

After attending this learning event, participants will be able to: define learning expectations, identify the NC Foundations for Early Learning, demonstrate how NC FELD reflects knowledge of child development, describe expectations of any age level according to ages and stages of development, create scenarios reflecting child development expectations seen in everyday classroom environments, describe practical uses of NC FELD for individualized and differentiated instruction, state the alignment of NC FELD to state standards, and create a plan for effective communication with parents and stakeholders regarding NC FELD and appropriate expectations for young children.

In order to earn the certificate, participants are required read course handouts, watch video clips, answer online interactive questions, and score a 90% or higher on a post knowledge assessment. Certificates are immediately available for downloading, printing, and saving directly from the course software in PDF format.
