Fire Safety in Early Care and Education: Prevention & Response

This 1- hour learning event presents strategies and best practices for promoting fire safety in the early care and education environments. Presentation topics will cover the dangers of fire in early care and education along with recommendations for evacuation policies and procedures, maintaining a safe environment, and teaching young children about fire safety. Participants will be able to state procedures involved in fire related situations for early care and education and describe prevention strategies to decrease the likelihood of fire-related emergency situations. (.1 CEU/1 hour)

Participants are required to read course handouts, engage in online activity slides, engage in online coursework for a required length of time, and pass a post knowledge assessment with a score of 90% or higher in order to earn the course certificate. The post knowledge assessment may be taken multiple times to ensure success.
